“We have nothing to fear for the future, except as we shall forget the way the Lord has led us, and His teaching in our past.” –Life Sketches. p. 196.
Indeed, through trials, tribulations and unforeseen circumstances, the Lord has brought us a mighty long way! We would like to pause for a moment and look back at how the Lord has led us to this monumental moment in time…
On Sabbath, August 25, 2012 was our first worship service with a group of members spiritually charged to move forward in faith. Through the providence God and brotherly love of Pastor and Sister Holborough and the members of New Life Ministries, we rented the property at 1912 Panola Road in Lithonia GA for our church services.
In April 2013, we launched our first community health expo with Bro. Chef Clinel Walker, reaching many through the right arm of the gospel.

In April 2014, we hosted our first Spring Evangelistic Series with Pastor Samuel Bulgin resulting in 10 souls surrendering to Jesus Christ through baptism and 21 by profession of faith, becoming members of Atlanta Belvedere Seventh-day Adventist Church.

In September 2014, we launched our Fall revival with Pastor Samuel Bulgin and Heaven rejoiced over the one soul that was baptized.

The week of March 9 – 15, 2015 was our first health emphasis series by Elder Dwayne Lemon, followed by a cooking class. These events preceded our Spring Evangelistic series by Pastor Samuel Bulgin
April 3 – 18, 2015 two precious souls were baptized.
August 29 – 30, 2015, we conducted a community health expo weekend with Sabbatical Lake Lifestyle Center, followed by our fall revival, September 5 – 19, 2015 with Pastor George Bulgin. One more precious soul was plucked out of Satan’s’ web.
We have been blessed with several visiting speakers who we call friends. They include Pastor Moses Peuges, Bro. Harold Sykes and others who have supported, encouraged and broken the bread of life to us. We are truly grateful for their service.
In October 2015 under the guidance of the Georgia Cumberland Conference administration and notably, Dr. Neil Reid (Area Ministerial Director) and Kurt Allen (Vice President of Finance), Battleground Mission was officially accepted into the conference and renamed Pillars of Faith Seventh-day Adventist Church.
On December 19, 2015 we had our Inauguration Service under the theme ‘United in Christ – The True Pillar.’
From March 19 – April 2, 2016 we conducted our Spring revival series with Pas. Ron Williams as evangelist. This resulted in seven souls being baptized and rededicating their lives to the Lord. Several months later two more souls were baptized.
Recreation, social interaction and family life are important aspects of Christian living so the Sabbath School Dept., hosted a summer fun day at Wade Walker Park.
To further strengthen the family bond, from Sept. 17 – October 8, 2016 the Hope for Healthy Family and Relationships evangelistic meetings were conducted by Dr. Neil Reid. The Lord blessed with more souls being prepared for baptism.
In August 2016, through the providence of God, the Georgia Cumberland Conference and the able leadership of our beloved pastor, Dr. Samuel Bulgin, we were able to purchase this church, a house, and the 15 acres on which they sit. This is where we now call home. To God be the praise, honor and glory, for great things He has done!
It is our prayer as we continue on this journey and serve in this part of the vineyard, that we will always lift up the name of our Lord and Savior so souls will be drawn and saved in the kingdom.
